This QCA guidance document, on the use of assessment in mathematics teaching, provides information about setting learning goals and sharing them; using effective questioning to assess and further pupils’ learning, and strategies to inform pupils about their progress. This resource explores approaches to assessment in maths, including the sharing of learning objectives, group work, whole class assessment, questioning, and more. Four case studies serve as useful discussion prompts to share practice. This .doc version of the QCA's 'Using assessment o Raise Achievement in Maths' allows schools to select parts of the document that are most relevant to them.
